Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Talk about eyes that will make your heart melt...….well this fella right here has them. Sycamore is a 1 year old beagle that was released to our rescue with his sister Senora. Both are litter mates and to be honest they had no idea how to lead a normal life. Sycamore spent the first year of his life living in a rabbit hutch off the ground. Upon arrival, a loving touch frightened him, any sudden movement or loud noise startled him. Honestly it was very sad to watch, but we were more determined than every to rehabilitate them. Showing them what it is like to trust a human and understand it ok to let his guard down. Convincing him that he wants to become a companion to a human, and that things will only get better from here.
It has been amazing to watch him transform into happy, fun, semi-trusting pup. Semi-trusting means it may take some time for them to adapt to a new environment, not long but a new place and schedule will be an adjustment. We are about a month in, potty/kennel training was challenging in the beginning but they just about have it down. With regular and routine potty breaks they do very well...considering they were use to going where they lived. He absolutely loves the freedom that comes with a fenced in yard, which is a major requirement not only for that reason but also because of his breed. He needs a safe secure atmosphere and than includes a very secure fenced in yard (almost privacy fence would be best)
Sycamore loves to romp and play with other 4-legged friends he has come to know. He has been around cats and he just ignores them. He's very food motivated so you could just about teach him anything. Very curious about all the things life has to offer and he LOVES toys, especially chew bones.
Give this guy a chance and if you want a dynamic funny duo, I'm sure him and his sister would love to continue their life together.
