My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What is your name?
I am Ramsey!

How old are you?
16 weeks ( a/o 02.06.20)

How much do you weigh?
20 pounds

What do you look like?
I am a white American Bully with one gray ear and a spot on my tail.

What do you like to eat?
Chicken Soup for the Soul puppy food

What kind of personality do you have?
I am a happy, spunky, spicy puppy! I love to play with my fur siblings and lots of toys.

Describe your perfect day:
Wake up and eat. Play, play, play! Nap. Eat. Play and repeat. I am full of energy, all puppy and if I could play all day I would but when I crash, I am OUT!

What is your favorite toy?
I love a good soft stuffy and nice hard stick!

Do you know any tricks?
I can sit and will go in my crate when told to “kennel up”. I am a puppy, so I am still working on my tricks.

What scares you?
The only time I get scared is when my big foster sister, reprimands me for being annoying.

Have you been around children? Do you like them?
Yes, I like people – big and small.

Do you like cats?
I live with a foster cat who I would like to play with, but he just ignores me.

How do you feel about other dogs?
I LOVE THEM! I have five foster fur-siblings – big and small and I love them all!

If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be?
At an all you can eat doggie buffet with a play area to play with other patrons.

How is your health?
I have a cleft lip, but it doesn’t affect me – so I am in perfect health.

Who do you live with your foster home and who is your closest companion?
I live with my foster mom and a foster human sibling, five dog siblings and one cat sibling. My best friend is my foster fur-sister Nala. We are the same age and have the same level of energy. I also like to nap on my foster human sister cause she’s a cool teenager and likes to snuggle me. Sometimes our foster mom has to separate us into different crates because we can get pretty rambunctious! Our foster mom calls it a time-out – but we don’t know what that means.

Where do you hang out when you are home alone?
In my crate

Where do you sleep?
In my crate

Do you like walking on a leash?
I haven’t had all my shots, so I have not walked on a leash yet.

Do you have any "not-so-great" habits that we should know about? For instance, do you bark or dig in the yard?
I wouldn’t call it bad but a habit I have is that I like to suck on blankets when I am in bed or your clothes if I am on your lap – nursing is still soothing to me.

Are you house trained? (Meaning do you go potty outside)
I go outside when I am told, but I am not perfect, I am a puppy after all.

Do you like water?
It’s been too cold to play in the water, I will tolerate but don’t love a bath. I have fun playing in my water bowl though.

What do you love about your foster family?
My foster family shows me lots of love and there are a lot of fur siblings to play with.

What was your life like before being brought into NorCal Bully Breed Rescue?
I was rescued from a breeder because my cleft lip made me not perfect and I was little, so I had to be tube fed. But my foster mom says I have a perfect smile. I am happy I was taken in by NorCal Bully Breed Rescue and I am as happy as can be.

NorCal Bully Breed Rescue is a foster based rescue with foster homes spread all throughout the Sacramento area. We usually require our adopters to be within a 50 to 100 mile radius of us, depending on the dog, and depending on the home. This is because we need to do a yard check to guarantee that the potential adopter's yard is secure, and also have them be close enough should any behavioral issues arise, and the assistance of our trainer is needed. We are, however, willing to adopt out of our area, including the Bay Area, Tahoe, and even further. We've even adopted out of state on very special occasions. We try our best to match our dogs to the perfect homes, and match them based on their personalities, not their looks. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first serve basis, rather in the order of what homes are the right match for that particular dog. Our adoption fees are based on the dog and range from $200-$500. In the case of senior dogs (6+ years), fees will be waived to the right home. This includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and deworming (if necessary).

Ramsey's adoption donation is $500.

Interested in meeting Ramsey or any of our available pooches? Complete and submit our adoption application on our website norcalbullybreedrescue.com and we will respond to you within 24 to 48 hours.
