Temperament: Sweet, gentle and very affectionate
Activity level: Moderately active.
Vetting: Vaccinated (core vaccines plus Bordetella), 4dx bloodwork negative for heartworm & three tick borne diseases (Ehrlichia/Anaplasma and Lyme); Fecal (negative), dewormed (Strongid T); flea/tick/heartworm prevention given, microchipped and neutered. When he was at the shelter he had bloodwork taken and his White Blood Cells were elevated (otherwise a very normal overall). A follow-up blood test will be done on February 9th.
Housebroken: Yes, fully housebroken.
Good with dogs: Yes, he is very respectful of their space.
Good with cats: Unknown.
Good with children: Unknown.
Prey drive: No.
Separation anxiety: He does get anxious when left alone. He paces and stays near the door looking out. He does settle down after a while.
Crate trained: N/A - He was never put in a crate as he is well behaved and sleeps nicely in his bed throughout the night.
Barky/noisy: He is not overly vocal, just normal. He will bark if he hears a noise or detects a stranger. He likes to join in if another dog is barking.
Leash etiquette: He is ok on the leash, but needs some improvement. His mission is to pull forward.
Transportation: Good in the car.

Leo is very sweet, gentle and adorably affectionate. He is easily attached to his humans and would do well in a home with lots of cuddles, he can’t get enough of those belly rubs. He does miss his humans when they leave and gets anxious when left alone, pacing but will settle down after a while. This little monkey is a climber on toilets and tables and will love to be the king of your home sitting up high on the furniture. And boy does he love food, so much so he will try to get in to garbage and garbage cans.
He does not seem to be guarded around his food, but eats and gobbles it up quickly, including fruit like apples and oranges!
This hungry boy naturally gets overly excited for treats and will sit and wait nicely, but watch your fingers, as he grabs the treat. Leo is fully housetrained and is well behaved in the house sleeping in his bed throughout the night. He will bark if he hears a noise, and alert you if he detects a stranger, and will join in if he hears another dog barking. He is good with other dogs and respectful of their space with no prey drive noted. But please note he has not been tested around cats or children.
This cuddle bug is a quick learner and observes cues and forms habits on from those he knows when he’s going out in the backyard vs. going out for a walk. This moderately active boy mostly ignores toys and seems uninterested in them, however he loves being outdoors and is happy to go on walks and sniff around. He is fine on busy streets, and the brave boy that he is, is not nervous with passing cars or traffic. He does however need improvement when walking on a leash, pulling forward. He responds to some commands when inside and in close proximity, but can be aloof when calling him from far away. Training would be highly beneficial so he can learn more commands and taught to be more aware of his surroundings.
