My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nova is a sweet little rescue that came all the way from Texas to find a home. She is about 2 years old, 14 lbs and is hoping to find a home that will take her for lots of car rides and walks in the park. Nova’s story is sad and we hope that we can write a happy ending to it. She was left outside her whole life, sometimes tied to a tree and sometimes tied to the table. They never went out to see her, talk to her or give her belly rubs. She slept outside, ate outside and was always alone. Nova was rescued when neighbors could not stand to see her treated so poorly. She was taken away from her owners and put into a shelter. She did not do well in the shelter and they reached out to Low Riders. Nova came to Colorado so scared, she hid behind a chair for the first 2 weeks. Little by little she would peek out from behind the chair to see what the other fosters were doing - she was never scared of other dogs, just humans. She would not let us touch her or look at her, she would run back behind the chair. We moved Nova to a wonderful foster in Casper, WY to help her understand that not all humans are bad, there are some really great rescue humans out there. We are so happy to say that Nova is now walking in the park, snuggling on the couch and understanding that belly rubs are awesome. She is not afraid of humans anymore, in fact she looks to them for love and understanding. She is also housetrained and will even wear sweaters on a cold day. Nova is that rescue that makes rescuing worth it. She would make a great addition to any family, she still needs some understanding and patience, but she is worth it. Because of her past we are asking that no kids under the age of 10. If you would like to meet Nova she is being fostered in Casper WY. You can fill out an application at

Nova’s adoption fee is $200.00 - she is up to date on all her vaccinations, chipped and spayed.
