Appena was rescued from a rural field where she was unwanted. Now that she is in recovery from mange, she loves the affection of her foster family. Appena wants so badly to engage but lacks confidence. She is wonderful with other dogs and needs a sibling to help her come out of her shell and show her how to enjoy her new life. She’s an extremely sweet girl and will make a very loving companion. Her ideal home would have a dog pal. She would be best with older kids or no kids because she still takes a little time to warm up to her new life as a pet and loved family member. Appena loves to run around the yard, go for walks and snuggle with foster mom in the evening. She is also potty trained.
Appena is UTD on vaccinations, is microchipped, dewormed, given flea and tick prevention and has been fixed. This furbaby is currently being fostered in Westmont, IL and would love to find a furever home! We will do our best to respond to any and all requests and contacts as soon as possible, but we are a 100% volunteer run rescue. It is great because that means we can keep our adoption prices low because we are not paying salaries, but all of our volunteers do have families and "real" jobs in order to support our passion of saving animals from euthanasia often just days or hours before they are scheduled to be put to sleep. That being said, one of us are going to do our best to contact via email or by phone within 48 hours of any inquiry. It is not uncommon that when you have made the decision to add to your family and committing to adopting a rescue dog that you are very excited, we just ask that you be patient with us.
