My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

“Collin”
Special Needs- he was declawed (before we got him) and bone fragments were left in his feet, which resulted in lots of pain for him. He is pain free, however his feet are still sensitive so requires a soft litter for his litter box (we can recommend brands). Chronic upper respiratory infections, so keeping his nose clean, environment clean, and may require antibiotics from time to time during his life.
Date of Birth- November 6, 2010
Date of Rescue- 12/8/2019
Date of Original Rescue- 1/14/2014
Gender- Male (neutered)
Color/Breed/Fur Length- Brown Tabby/DLH/Long “weekly brushings”
About Me-
On 1/14/2014, we rescued Collin from the Davis County Shelter when he was put on the euthanasia list. At that time, the shelter was a high kill shelter and many of the cats didn’t make it out of there unless a rescue pulled them. After we rescued Collin, we realized that his declawed paws were causing him extreme pain. We took him into the Paw Project and with x-rays they found bone fragments still in his paws (one of the many issues associated with declawing cats). We had to do several treatments of laser therapy to get his feet feeling better. His paws are better now, however he will always be sensitive in his feet and does require a soft litter for his box. He has had chronic upper respiratory issues off and on his whole life, but with a good quality food and clean environment his flare ups are kept low (he may occasionally require antibiotics).
On 4/13/2017, Collin was adopted into what we thought was a forever loving home. However, on 12/8/2019, Collin was returned to us for sneezing and they put him in their garage. He is quite nervous in new situations due to what previous people have done to him, so must be given the time he needs to adjust to a new home. Collin is such a love and deserves to find a true forever loving family that will love him, and in turn he will love you unconditionally (even when you sneeze).
*He loves to talk to you about your day and sit and listen you tell him about yours
*He loves soft, fluffy beds and to lay around and be lazy with his people. He will sit with you and binge watch all your favorite shows, and he never hogs the remote.
*He loves his wet foods and has the cutest meow to politely beg for some.
*He may be a bit older, but still loves to play with his feather wands and goes nuts for his laser pen.
Best Type of Home-
He does well with other cats, with a good introduction. Does great with respectful older children, very young kids are a bit too much for this guy. Dogs, we are unsure about.
He must be given the time he needs to adjust to a new home, so patience please. Once he adjusts, he will be right by your side every chance he gets. A quiet home to lounge around in is best, so he would be perfect for a retired couple. Must provide a large litter box and only use soft litter (we can recommend some brands), because of the horrible declaw that was done to him.
Notes-
He is Neutered, Vaccinated, Microchipped
