Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Archer is a handsome, floppy-eared five year old, 50 pound, Treeing Walker Coonhound/American Foxhound and/or a houndy mix therein. Most in-know-hound-folks believe he's a TWC. Archer pays no mind to his breed; he's too busy enjoying life as a cuddly, playful, silly, and active guy. As a hound, he loves and needs his outdoor time: walks, runs, and sniffing time. He and also makes a great couch potato! He also knows several commands.
Archer likes everyone he meets and enjoys playing with other dogs. He chases small animals, so no cats or chickens for this guy.
A great home for this great dog is a hound savvy home or a home that has researched the characteristics of scent hounds and is prepared to give this boy the exercise and stimulation that will keep him happy. The best fit for Archer is an owned home with a fenced yard. Another playful dog would be icing on his cake! Most of all, Archer is seeking a home in which he will be loved and protected forever.
What makes Archer happy is spending time with people. playing with another dog or two, walking and running, and smelling things outdoors. Though not as vocal as some hounds, there are times when Archer does like to express himself with by baying or barking, mostly when he's chasing or has treed a squirrel and when he's playing with a stick, bone or chew toy. And like all scent hounds, Archer follows his nose!
Archer will do best in a home in which he spends more time with his people than without. He does not take kindly to being crated, and he is not destructive, so free ranging in the house works best when on his own.
Mr. Handsome comes neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and micro-chipped!
There is a very limited supply of Archers, so act quickly!
