Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Birdie, a sweet little one-year old girl who checks all the boxes of the Love Bug/Social Butterfly category. Birdie came to us via a kill shelter, the staff reached out to us because they thought she was such a special girl. Everyone’s initial reaction when seeing her is “oh my gosh she is so cute.” There is no doubt that she is an adorable lab mix that is all black with a small dot of white on her chest, weighing in at 36 pounds. She looks like a mini lab, and she loves to snuggle and is very willing to give you a kiss. When she first arrived, she was nervous but after holding her tight and reassuring her she became very relaxed. Everyone at the vet was amazed how easy going and social she was and wanted to greet everyone, especially men. At our vet visit she was either sitting on laps and handing out kisses or laying on the exam table waiting for more pets and belly rubs. The vet staff all asked that she come back again to visit. Birdie is good with other dogs, but we are not sure about cats. We have not had her around children, but she has such a sweet temperament I can imagine she would be a wonderful companion for any age, we are working on not jumping. She is winning over her foster fur brother by being respectful, but occasionally sneaking up to lay down by him, and he has even offered to play! Birdie is being potty trained, and it is going well. She is a great sleeper and occasionally a very loud snorer! Birdie has enjoyed exploring her foster family’s home, fenced in backyard and laying in the sunshine. She has also done a bit of backyard patrolling from the deck checking out the neighbor’s dog. She arrived with plenty of dandruff, but a good bath and nutrition is clearing that up. We look forward to learning more about this sweet little girl in order to find just the right family. Birdie is fully medically vetted; heartworm negative, will soon be spayed, up to date on all vaccines, and on prevention plus microchipped.
