My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Solaire is a Domestic Medium Hair (DMH), male, DOB: 11/18/16.

The essence of a true gentleman, Solaire gives new meaning to the phrase “neat and tidy.” Coy and subtle with soft-spoken purring and a cat, one could accurately say, is completely squared-away, his striking green-eyes and slightly hesitant, come-hither demeanor is sure to draw in almost immediately any cat lover.

Affectionate, attentive, intelligent . . . this warm, thoughtful boy enjoys loving attention from those he knows, especially head rubs and any kind of petting. Once you run your fingers through his long, cottony-soft fur, you won’t want to stop . . . and be mindful, he won’t want you to stop either. Interested and inquisitive without being too playful, calm, well-mannered, happy to be present, genuinely sincere, and truth be told, maybe a little bit quirky and definitely having a comfort zone he likes to operate in; for example, he’ll hide out and watch the world from under his bed rather than on it or in it until he is completely comfortable in his surroundings. Solaire is a Fabulous Feline in our book, well-worth any mild demands he’ll present to his new, very lucky, and fawningly-adored family members.

Solaire is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a calm, low-active lifestyle. A social and friendly cat who gets along well with other compatible cats, Solaire would prefer a home with either well-mannered, cat-friendly dogs or no dogs and without active young children under the age of twelve (12). As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable animals, a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any other housemate pets will be required prior to adoption.

Solaire came to Monroe SPCA in a joint rescue effort with animal control with four (4) other family members coming to Monroe SPCA including Smudge, Celeste, Krissy, and Kringle, (four [4] other family members from the same trailer went to animal control at the same time). Solaire has been treated for URI, ear mites, fleas, and intestinal parasites while with Monroe SPCA.

Now a healthy, happy cat, he’s looking for a forever family who will welcome and embrace him as a life-long, beloved companion and family member, and always appreciate him for the sweet, gentle soul he is.

Solaire currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store. You can meet him Tuesday – Thursday, 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm; Friday and Saturday, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm; or by appointment; closed Sunday, Monday, and National Holidays. To start the adoption process for Solaire, complete and submit Monroe SPCA’s adoption application linked above.

All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $85.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed, tested for FeLV and FIV, and microchipped with lifelong registration prior to adoption.

Completed adoption applications can be emailed to info@monroespca.org or dropped off at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store located at 293 W. Monroe St, Dundee, MI 48131.
