My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Louie is a fun, friendly, energetic, playful and loving, four-year-old, 52-pound, male white bully breed-mix looking for a loving guardian.

Louie needs a strong leader who will continue his training and give him daily exercise. Louie loves chew toys, bones and playing tug of war and fetch with his humans. He also enjoys belly rubs, walks and playing with tolerant larger dogs; he’s a hard player.

In the home, he’s a Velcro dog. He’s happy to be your shadow and join you on the coach for a cuddle session. He’s great in the car and good on leash … unless he sees a bunny, squirrel or cat.

Louie is housebroken when kept on schedule. He needs to go out at least four times a day. He has been professionally-trained and knows the commands sit, high-five and shake. He just loves to work and learn new things.

He’s not a high-maintenance dog. Louie is happy to hang out at your feet or to cuddle in his dog bed and chew a bone while you work. He is best in a home with adults and teenagers without cats or small dogs. He is not a “dog park” dog.

He would love a home as the one and only pet to thoroughly bond with his human. He enjoys food puzzles and other methods of mental stimulation including training classes.

A fenced-in-yard is on his wish list, but he’d be happy with multiple walks every day. Louie is an escape artist, so without supervision, he can easily find a way to get out of enclosed areas; he needs supervision while outside.

Louie would love to be adopted by a someone who works from home or is a homebody … He just loves to hang out with his human.

Louie is healthy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, de-wormed, heartworm-tested and on monthly heartworm preventative. For his health, he eats The Honest Kitchen dehydrated base food with added meat.

His adoption fee of $150 benefits the rescued dogs of Villa Bark Rescue.

He is being fostered in Chicago, Illinois.
