My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you like big ears (and you cannot lie) then I am your boy. I'm Neville and I'm a proud chiweenie. That means I got the best parts of dachshunds and the best parts of chihuahuas. Winner winner chicken dinner! So, I'm what my people refer to as an 'easy-keeper.' I love nothing more than being cuddled, carried around and sleeping in (kind of like the lady who is writing this for me!) Other things I like? Long easy walks and chasing cats. You should know this however, even though it says I'm not good with cats *eye-roll* I get along just fine with my foster cat roommate, so it really has more to do with their personality than their cat-ness. Does that make sense? SO, yeah. I'm only 8 years old. Middle aged, you know. I won't chew your stuff. I won't demand you throw the ball for me until your arm falls off. I am mature, so I know that the potty business happens outside and I totally respect that. I'm fine with children, but not super smallies because they are so fast and short and they scare me. If you think I have what your heart is looking for, reach out.

If you are interested in adopting Neville, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform2.shtml . Neville 's adoption fee is $300.00. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Neville will go to his/her new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
