Maggie is a 5 yr old basset hound X- she is fully vetted, spayed, and very friendly with people and most dogs, but has developed resource guarding behavior. She can be a WONDERFUL dog, but without appropriate boundaries set she will set them for herself! She needs a home that will provide the mental and physical stimulation she needs, and the willingness to participate in training to help her overcome these challenges. A behavioral assessment with a certified trainer is available for review. Adopters will be screened carefully - homes with children are not acceptable. A home with a fenced in yard would be the best fit as this girl needs play time in addition to walks. Homes with other dogs may be considered on a case by case basis.
Maggie has a LOT of love to give, but needs the right environment to thrive. Please reach out if your family might be the right fit!
