My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rogue 3 1/2 year old black female with natural ears. She has been spayed and gastropexied.
Update - October 2022
Hi I’m rogue. I’ve been coming along so well in my foster home. She’s been helping me to be comfortable around other dogs. She takes me to meet and greets and as you can see I had a really good time. If you’re willing to let me move at my pace and have a couch I can lay on. I’m you’re girl and would love to meet you.

Hey all, It’s me, Rogue. I’m enjoying my time with my foster family, but I’d really like to find my forever home. Do you know anyone who wants to be my people?

I’d really like to find a home with another medium or large sized dog; however, I’d be totally OK as an only dog. Cats and small dogs aren’t really my thing. And I’m not really a fan of small children. They’re unpredictable and don’t quite grasp the idea of boundaries and personal space. so, they’re kind of scary. OK, yea, a lot of things are scary to me; like balloons tied to a mailbox and inflatable yard decorations. After a lot of treats though, I’m a lot braver and can handle them. A yard to run in would be nice because it’s a lot of fun to race around with a jolly ball in my mouth or chase after a thrown ball. But if a yard isn’t doable, then I’ll accept applications from runners or hikers, too. I’m also really good at playing by myself, if necessary. Nobody throws a toy better than I do for myself. ’m a really good smuggler. I don’t kick you in my sleep or push you out of bed. Speaking of beds, I’m really good at good morning kisses. I don’t slobber all over you like some other dogs. I give small, very delicate licks to gently encourage you to get up. Then, if that doesn’t work, I stick my snoot under the blankets and start flicking them up to show you that I mean business. That food bowl isn’t going to fill itself, ya know.

I know my basic commands like “sit”, “down” and “get yourself together.” I know how to wait for my dinner until I’m given the OK. I try to be patient, but I just get so excited for food that I start “seat-dancing” and my feet start tapping in anticipation. I also bounce when I’m excited. My foster mom says I must have hydraulics’ in my front legs, like a doggo hopptie whatever that is. I’ve been told that a lot of dogs are picky or don’t really like treats. I think those dogs are cray-zy!! I like all food, even the hypoallergenic treats that my foster brother gets. Ya know, the plain cracker-like ones? They’re actually pretty tasty. And one of my favorite things is broccoli stalks. I hear the knife on the cutting board, and I come running cuz I know I’m in for a treat!

I come with my own cold weather wardrobe. There’s a nice fleece coat for the chilly fall days and a super warm winter coat. When you tell me to get dressed, I help by putting my head in and standing for my coat to be cinched up well, most of the time. Again, sometimes I just get so excited I can’t stay still! I’m sort of an all-seasoned kind of girl. You can’t beat a warm summer day for some sunbathing, but I also get a little frisky when the colder weather starts up. Did you know that you can eat snow? It makes a really fun game when it starts falling from the sky. I can catch the snow fluffs almost all the time!
