My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I have been told that I need to share some information about myself so I can get this thing called a forever home. My foster mom tells me that there are perfect homes out there for every dog so here goes nothing! My official name with LWHA is Alexandria and as you can see from my pictures, I’m a small breed dog and I like to think that I’m pretty cute. Because I’m not a puppy anymore, there are certain things that you won’t have to worry about with me. I won’t chew up things in your house that I’m not supposed to and I know where to do my business. Crates are OK but I would much rather be near my person. My ideal home would be one with other small dogs. I enjoy playing with dogs that are my size and they are helping me build my confidence. Small kids are scary for me so I think I would be best fit in a home where the kids are older and can respect my needs or if there aren’t kids. It takes me some time to warm up but I promise that I’m worth the wait. Once I’ve learned to trust you, I will follow you around and demands lots of affection. If you think that we are a good match, apply at http://www.longwayhomeadoptables.org/.To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport, please visit our website, www.LongWayHomeAdoptables.org and click the adopt tab!

Our adoption fee is $200 for dogs, $100 for cats, and it includes spay/neuter, all vaccines, heartworm testing, fecal testing, deworming, flea/heartworm prevention, and a microchip.

NATIONWIDE TRANSPORT available for an additional $200 fee. See our website for more info!

Please note: breed listings are based on educated guesses. Shelter animals and abused pets do not come with DNA profiles, so breeds listed on the profile are based on size, coat, markings, and body shape, but are in no way guaranteed.

_______

Long Way Home is a volunteer organization, comprised of a network of foster homes. Please keep this in mind, as we only have so much time to volunteer around full time jobs, family obligations, etc. It may take us several days to respond.
