Good with cats: unsure
Good with kids: no
Energy level: medium
Good with men/strangers: yes

Special home requirements or medical: experienced, quiet home as the only dog or with a well-behaved dog that won't react negatively
Additional info:
Nico is a Chihuahua / Jack Russell mix looking for a quiet home with no kids or small dogs (friendly big dogs ok). He is very fearful of new people, especially men, and needs someone who will be patient with him while he learns to be comfortable around you. He does have a bite history when his boundaries are pushed (new people touching him and resource guarding toys), but once he gains your trust, he is a fun-loving boy who enjoys playing with his toys, going on long walks, running around, and cuddling with his owner. He does have a bit of separation anxiety and will bark when left alone, but eventually calms down. Nico is also very smart and will listen to most commands given to him; he is fully house trained. He’s a treat-oriented boy and will surely gain your trust faster when lots of treats are involved.
Although it can take Nico a while to warm up to new people, he is very sweet and loyal to his person once he feels safe and comfortable. He would do best in a home with no children and where he can get a lot of exercise to help with his high energy. He is crate trained but is trustworthy when left alone once he gets used to his surroundings. Overall, he is a sweet boy who just needs someone to give him time and space while he learns to love you.
