My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi. I am Poppy and I am melting hearts at my foster home! I hear I am a darling girl with spunk and personality. I am also super cute! Aren't my curls just the best?!
I love other dogs, kitties and people. I used to be possessive of my toys, but my foster mom is teaching me how to share them. I'm also learning new commands. I want to please you and I catch on quick. I am very smart and I have figured out a lot of fun ways to keep everyone entertained.
I adore my foster dad a lot. The other day I followed him down to the barn, then jumped up on the tractor with him. I am quite agile and can jump and play with the best of them.
I am 8 or 9 years old and weigh about 10lbs. Maintaining my canine figure is very important to keep me healthy and active. I really do love food and foster mom portions out my food so I don't eat too much.
My nickname is "sidekick". I guess you know why. I love to be with people. I will follow you anywhere you go. I just love humans so much.
I have been to the vet and have had all my vaccines, been spayed and I even got my teeth cleaned.
I can't wait to meet you and show you what a good girl I am and give you endless amounts of love! Please go to dreamhappytails.org to fill out an application and let's start our new life together.

If you are interested in adopting Poppy, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to dreamhappytails.org/adoptform2.shtml . Poppy 's adoption fee is $325.00. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Poppy will go to his/her new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
