Here's what the humans have to say about me:
NALA is a 5.5 year old Rottweiler/Sharpei mix. She lived with a family with small children for almost year and did very well with the family. They found it necessary to surrender NALA to the Tracy Animal Shelter when a family emergency took them out of the area for an extended period of time. She was then adopted by another family who were ill equipped to handle a large dog and had a tiny backyard. She lasted only a few days and then was returned to the Shelter. Due to concerns about NALA being at risk at the Tracy Animal Shelter, NALA was pulled from the Shelter and has been at K9 Development since February 26, 2019 for evaluation, boarding and training.
During the past 11 months she has developed a great foundation of manners and obedience. According to her Trainer, Amy Euker-Fields, NALA is a powerful girl who likes to push her weight around with other dogs. For that reason she is best placed as an only dog. In a controlled environment such as K9 Development, she does spend time with other dogs, but in a less controlled environment there could be issues.
She is clean and non-destructive and has learned to be calm and relaxed at K9 Development. NALA is a smart girl who will test her owner’s leadership skills and for that reason it is recommended she be adopted by a stronger more experienced handler. NALA has a great ball and food drive, which translates into no cats or small animals. Though NALA is doing well at K9 Development, she deserves a HOME, not the Boarding life, and it's hoped 2020 will be the year she can find her FOREVER family.
NALA’S Adoption Fee is $250, which will be refunded to the adopter once proof of 4 sessions of continued personal training with K9 Development is provided.
