Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jamong, a 3 year old terrier who weighs around 13-15 lbs and her new born pups were found at a greenhouse in a country side in March of 2019. We believe she came into the greenhouse to give birth since it is much warmer than outside in February. When she was reported, she was very skinny, and her pups were in poor health. By the time Jamong and her pups were relocated to the shelter and getting assessed, the pups sadly passed away, but Jamong survived. The rescuer noticed one of her hind legs is twisted, and Jamong was limping when she walked. Not only she needed surgery to repair luxating patellas on both legs, one of her leg had to have additional orthopedic surgery to reposition her bone that was twisted. She was also tested positive for Heartworm, which the treatment began immediately, and completed.
Where Jamong was found and treated is an area called Haman, which is one of the most remote southern city, where not many volunteers are around, so when one of Korean K9Rescue Korea/ BFA World Volunteer from LA heard about this little girl, she volunteered herself to care for Jamong in her home in California! She told me Jamong loves people, and asks to be petted. She nibbles on a blanket like a baby, but once she goes outside, she becomes very alert and reacts quickly to wild animals she sees-such as squirrels and birds. Maybe her alertness is what helped her survive while she was on the road pregnant? She is very active, and loves to run, but her leg is still healing, so frequent and regular exercise is highly recommended.
Jamong has a very nice demeanor, and play well with other dogs and people. If she is meeting other dogs first time, she can be shy, so please give a day or two until she feels comfortable, then you will notice how nice friend she becomes to your furry companion. Although she is a perfect small terrier who is fun and friendly, but because she is mixed breed, not designer breed dogs, she had a zero chance to be adopted in Korea. Other than that, she received a clean bill of health from the vet, and she is ready to be adopted!
We believe people who adopt rescue animals because they are willing to accept a bit of imperfection, and willing to embrace, work/ train and love them no matter what baggage the animal had in the past. It can be challenging, but extremely rewarding. We have seen amazing transformation in our adopted dogs who have been with loving families, and it is our goal to provide all of them with the opportunity. We are at our happiest when we see photos of our adopted animals smile with the new adoptive family, and we hope to find Jamong a loving family who would do the same.
Please consider adopting Jamong and making her part of your family! If you would like to apply to adopt Jamong, you can download an application here:
You can MEET Jamong upon request or at one of our adoption event in the near future. We will post the exact date once we finalize the plan. Please refer to our facebook page for more info:
