Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Welcome Ford to CCPAL. He is a 2-year-old Rottie/Lab mix from KCAS. He was in the Kerr County Shelter and on the short list for euthanasia when our friends let us know he was a good dog and needed more time to find his forever home. Ford is agile and athletic and will make a great companion. He bonds deeply and will be a good protector of his people. He is very smart and responsive. He just has a protective nature but very attentive and will listen to you when you say they are friends. Ford will be best as the only pet in the home, and with a home with children 10 years and up. Ford would need careful introductions with other dogs and would not be a good candidate to run freely at a dog park. He will need an owner with a firm style to give him the structure and guidance he needs to understand the rules and boundaries in the home. He is eager to learn, but was not given the important socialization skills that dogs need to get when they are puppies. He would make a wonderful companion for the woman and family that the man travels, or for anyone willing to invest some time in his training. He will be there for you and keep the family safe. We love Ford and cannot wait to find his forever home where he can be loved as much as he loves. He would be perfect for the outdoorsy and active type. He settles down nicely too. He is about 45 pounds and a nice weight at that size. He is shorter than the traditional Rottie but has the look and the bigger head. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas. He can be transported with one of the wonderful transporters we work with to Washington, Portland, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Vermont and all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 200 and transport is 185.
