My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET JEWEL!!
Jewel is a new arrival to our shelter (1-06-20) coming to us as a stray. She is a senior estimated to be 10+ years. She is a friendly girl, loving petting and attention. We wonder how she became a stray? Jewel is hoping that her new family will find her quickly... no senior cat should spend any amount of time in a shelter environment! Come meet Jewel and her feline friends during adoption hours: Mon, Tues & Fri 5:30p til 7:30p and Sat 10a til 2p. Let us introduce you!

Does this cat get along with other cats? There is almost always an acclimation period when a new pet joins the household. We are happy to suggest a few ways to ease the transition.

Does this cat respond well to dogs? The more important question is how the dog responds to cats. Most cats will adjust to a dog, given time and patience. If the resident dog's response to cats is unknown, that should be determined prior to adding a cat to the household. We can offer a few suggestions.

Is this cat good with children? The better question is how the children have been taught to handle animals. A cat will respond negatively if he/she is not being handled properly. We can offer suggestions on how to teach children to interact with cats.

If you're interested in meeting any of our cats or dogs, stop in during our open hours. For location and hours, see our website at https://wacshelter.com
