My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Katie is a gorgeous blue tabby Doll-Faced Persian, about 3 years old. She is the sweetest, most mellow, most awesome cat. I just love this sweet girl.

Katie does have one hip that is not quite right. The bone does not fit correctly into the hip. This means that she limps a bit and is a bit less flexible than she would like to be. It's likely a neurological issue as opposed to an orthopedic issue. Our vet and a veterinary specialist assure us that she is not a candidate for surgery. She will likely have arthritis when she gets older, but none of this keeps her from being the most awesome cat ever.

We would prefer a home without small children (under 10) or dogs. She would do well in a quiet, mellow home where the people just want to cuddle with this sweetie. If you are interested in adopting her, please email us at merlinshoperagdollrescue@gmail.com. She is in a foster home in Ennis, Texas. Her adoption fee is $250

Sorry, we do not ship our cats or provide any transportation. All potential adopters should reside in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, or Louisiana. We will not adopt outside of those states.

Who We Are: We are a private rescue and privately funded. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, BUT A RESCUE. A rescue is a PRIVATE HOME and not a public place to visit. Adopters must make appointments prior to visiting foster homes. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/FELV tested, wormed, de-fleaed, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Adoption Process: We require all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application prior to setting up an appointment to visit with the cat(s). We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. If you call or email us, we will provide you with an application via email.

YOUNG CAT COMPANION POLICY: Unless otherwise indicated, all cats under the age of 3 must go into a home with another cat/kitten under the age of three or be adopted with a buddy. Ragdolls and Maine Coons are physically slow to mature, benefit greatly from the social interactions with another cat and often long for the companionship. Obviously, some young adults not raised around other cats or with more independent personalities may be exceptions to those rules, but that is up to the discretion of the Rescue to assess that need and is not negotiable. Special prices are made for buddy adoptions.
