Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Nellie is said to be 15. We agree she is a senior but she might be a touch younger. Her family brought her into Animal Control to euthanize her saying she had vulva cancer. There is no such thing! They made it up and never had the vet diagnose her! Nellie had a polyp on her uterus. We had it removed when we got her spayed and did her dental! Nellie is am amazing happy dog who wants to be your couch companion and BFF. She has wonderful house manners and a constant wagging tail. She is a true delight! She may not hear well but her eyes see well. She climbs up stairs with no effort. She does have cherry eye that caused dry eye. Nellie does need to see the opthamologist annually and need twice daily prescription eye drops for life to to dry eye. Beyond that she is quite healthy and a good eater!
Nellie is fine with other dogs but perfers people to pets. She does protect her space and food and will try to chase other dogs away from her zone.
Nellie is fully vetted and would be a great dog for anyone who will give her all the love she deserves. She has been spayed, had a dental, vaccinated and has a microchip. If family please contact us through this website or at RescueTailsAnimalWelfare@gmail.com. We are volunteers with full time jobs who will try to get back to you in 48 hours or less. Thank you for your patience! We do require an approved adoption application before we can schedule a home visit and a potential meet and greet. We only adopt within the local Chicago metro area. Thank you!
