My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Dasher and I'm a long haired Abyssinian guinea pig which gives me some super classy hair styles. I’m social life of the party and can often be heard being vocal with my best friend Donner. I adore a leisurely snack of fresh veggies and plenty of hay as well as playing with lots of types of toys. I love being held and a some good scratches on the head or back. I am very spunky and would love a home with someone who spend lots of time hand feeding and petting me.
.
Hi, I'm Dashers shyer but just as fabulous brother Donner. I am super friendly but just take a bit of time to warm up to people. My brother Dasher really helps me be confidence department and we have lots of fun together. I love to be held it just takes me a little time to be comfortable with you as being picked up initially is scary for me. Once you have me safe in your arms though I am happy to talk to you and enjoy some head pets. I love a good fresh salad and lounging about on a nice quite day and hanging with my brother Dasher and my foster humans. You will often see Dasher and myself wheek and coo "guinea pig talk" back and forth and occasionally cuddle. This is because we are social animals by nature so when possible we do better in pairs.

RCHS guinea pigs live in loving foster homes where they are socialized, given sufficient exercise outside of their cage, and fed a diet of grass hay, Timothy pellets, and fresh vegetables daily to maintain a healthy weight. Guinea pigs do require a vet trained in exotic animal medicine and have special housing and dietary needs. We encourage you to please research guinea pigs thoroughly before adopting.
