Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bluebell is a bright-eyed beauty, with a heart of gold! She is a friend to everyone she meets and is very affectionate, loving and playful. She came to Rise and Shine after an extended stay in a small, local shelter…after originally being abandoned. Despite her rough start, Bluebell continues to amaze us with her resilient energy, endless smooches and happy-go-lucky spirit. She loves toys, is currently in foster with three other dogs and has an affinity for treats, soft beds and the WATER!!
In fact, Bluebell would make an amazing companion for someone who enjoys boating, walks on the beach or hiking to some of NC’s treasured waterfalls. She recently joined us for a 4 mile hike at Raven Rock and it was like her heart just lit up as she splashed right into the creek! Her middle name could easily be “go", car rides are tops on her list of favorite things. Bluebell is one of the most genuinely happy dogs we have ever known. She is friendly, affectionate and given the chance, will cover you in smooches! She is in a foster home with other dogs (big and small), is house-trained and create-trained.
Bluebell’s ideal home would include regular walks, outdoor play time and someone who loves spending time in nature. We can just picture her on family camping trips or resting by a cozy fire after a day on the trails. She seems happiest after spending at least part of each day soaking up the sun and romping in the yard. On the flipside, she crashes out hard after a good play session and she’s quite content to curl up at your feet and watch TV. She will follow you, much like a shadow and is skilled at squuueeezing in next to you on the couch.
Bluebell has also done well with kids, although she tends to forget her size and may do best with slightly older children (8+) who are comfortable with larger dogs. She is actually very scared of cats and would prefer to live without feline friends.
If you would like to meet Bluebell or have questions about her personality, feel free to contact us or submit an adoption application and we’ll be in touch soon!
