Arrival Story: We found CJ at Detroit Animal Care and Control.
Approximate Age/Weight: 1 - 2 years old and 31 lbs.
CJ is a LOVE SPONGE. His favorite thing is snuggling up on the couch with his favorite humans. However, this boy is no couch potato! Being outside and going for walks is on the top of CJ’s list of best things in life. He’ll need more leash training, but we think one day he’ll be a top-notch hiking or running buddy.
Our boy is outgoing and is always thrilled to meet new people. He thrives on attention from humans. CJ gets along okay with his doggy foster brothers, but he is more energetic than they prefer. He’d be okay being the only dog, getting all the attention, toys and cuddles to himself. CJ is still a bit puppy-ish with mouthing, but he is learning. This smarty-pants is food-motivated and wants to learn as he has perfected sit, down, and working on more commands. Particularly fond of playing tug-o-war.
CJ is good at the vets office and on car rides.
Ideal home: CJ is an active boy who would thrive with pet parents with the same energy level. He’d be fine as the only dog in the home with a dog of matching energy level. Younger children are not ideal due to CJ’s mouthing.
