Ava is a 4 year old beautiful blue and white border collie. She was surrender to rescue at the result of a divorce and has always been well cared for. She is very affection and wants to be near her people all the time. She knows how to sit and shake and is house trained. She is strongly food motivated but only picks up toys to play with on occasion so far.
Ava would love to be an only dog to soak up all the love and be the center of attention. However, she has done well with calm, neutral dogs who are not interested in a lot of interaction and don't create a lot of commotion. A lot of activity is very stimulating for her and inspires her to play the part of "fun police." She loves all people, including kids but can be nervous and shy of new people and situations. She has been good with cats. She is happiest to curl up and snuggle so she won't necessarily need a job to do, but could use some fine tuning on her home manners and would benefit from activities to help build her confidence and independence.
She walks well on a leash and has adjusted to sleeping in her kennel at night.
Ava is being fostered in the Springfield, Mo area.
