Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ADOPTION APPLICATIONS are now being accepted for Lilly's two puppies.
“LILLY” was due any day and unable to be safely transported with all the other Poodles after Susan Johnson (of “Sue’s Poos”) unexpected death. Lilly then came to our home where she gave birth to her puppies on Thursday, October 17th, 2019.
These two very cute, friendly and little Toy Poodle boys have been well cared for by Lilly. They have also been the center of our attention while being loved and socialized every day of their life. They are now available for adoption separately.
Both of these apricot puppies are weaned and eating a quality hard kibble. Nothing shy about them as they greatly enjoy chasing their mom around and around and around the house: LET’S RUN AND PLAY, MOM!
When mom gets tired of them, they continue to run and play with anything they can find. When they get tired, they enjoy being held, cuddled and loved.
Now at 11 weeks old, the one male puppy weighs just 2 pounds, while his brother weights 1 pound 10 ounces. “Rule of Thumb” is that at 12 weeks old, you double the puppy’s weight to determine their adult weight. So we know and can see that both of these boys are going to be a smaller sized Toy Poodle, like their mom.
We are unaware of Sue doing any genetic or OFA testing on her Poodles and we do not have access to the puppy’s AKC registration information. But we do know that “Lilly” is their mom and “Captain” (who is also a Toy Poodle) is their dad.
These puppies are cute and loving but like ALL puppies, they are also a lot of work. You must be able to keep up with a puppy and have the time to continue socializing, teaching and playing with your new puppy. In that way, the puppy will become a wonderful and loving adult Poodle!
*Because we do home visits before and occasionally after the adoption, we do NOT “SHIP” OR adopt our Poodles to homes outside a 1 days drive (500 miles) from our central Minnesota location.
+ABSOLUTELY NO CHILDREN, NO LARGE OR AGGRESSIVE DOGS. These are small puppies who can easily be accidentally hurt.
+PRIORITY will be given to families with previous Poodle and/or puppy experience.
Both of these puppy boys are “CRYPTORCHID”, which means un-descended testicles; commonly found in the Toy breeds. We do NOT neuter/spay young puppies. So you will need to return your puppy to our Vet (Barrington Oaks Veterinarian Clinic) here in Elk River when your puppy is over 7 months old and before 1 year old so he can be neutered and Home Again micro chipped by our Vet. Your adoption fee includes that surgery.
If approved, you may also have your puppy neutered by your own licensed Veterinarian during the time stated above. When we receive a receipt from your Vet that your puppy has been neutered, a $100.00 rebate check will be offered to you. You do have the option of donating this rebate check as a charitable tax deduction contribution to “Picket Fence Poodle Rescue” 501(c)(3). Thank you.
Yes, these puppies are a very rare opportunity for the right family. They will be adopted separately. Their adoption fee is $859.00 (each) which includes our MN state sales tax of $59.00. The puppies have been Vet checked healthy with shots and worming being up to date for their age.
Also included is a bag and cans of quality puppy food, treats, a new kennel, new blanket, new dog bed, various toys, a “Puppies For Dummies” book along with lots of good information to help your adoption start off on the right paw forward.
BONUS: We are now including a brand new, 24" high exercise pen as seen in the video below.
In the video, Lilly’s puppies enjoyed watching the movie “The Muppets”, especially the part when Walter whistles his song “The Whistling Caruso”.
