My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE POST BEFORE APPLYING.

THIS DOG IS BEING FOSTERED IN TIMBERLAKE, NC. YOU MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL THERE TO PICK UP AT ADOPTION TIME. WE DO NOT SHIP ANIMALS. IF YOU ARE APPLYING FOR THIS DOG, AND APPROVED, YOU MUST BE WILLING TO TAKE IT UPON APPROVAL. WE CANNOT HOLD DOGS WHILE YOU DECIDE, GO ON VACATION OR OTHER REASONS. AS THIS PREVENTS OTHERS FROM BEING SAVED AND COMING INTO A FOSTER'S HOME.

ABOUT JAKE:

ADOPTION FEE: $300

Jake is an18 months old male Mastiff mix. He is neutered, heart worm negative, dewormed, on heart worm prevention, all vaccines, rabies and microchipped. He is about 110 lbs and still growing.

When he arrived in our rescue he had no house manners, was not house trained. NOW, after several weeks with a wonderful, loving foster family who has other dogs and an 11 yr old son, he has soared and now able to stay indoors without any accidents.

Jake gets along with kids (over 10), other dogs, loves to walk and play. But his favorite thing is to be loved by his humans, sit by the fireplace where he is warm and can get plenty of belly rubs. He isn't much a barker.

He came from a breeder who allowed him to live outdoors with little to no human contact. He was with many other dogs of which his female Mastiff companion came with him and he loves her so much. She is only 8 months old.

This wonderful bundle of love has learned to walk on a leash, be with different people, accept new noises, like the garage door opening, he has accepted his new foster family like his own. But it's time for him to get a family of his own, to bond with them, to learn even more.

We highly recommend a family with large dog experience. These large breeds aren't for every household. They are gentle giants and need space to run and play. Ideally Jake would benefit greatly with a fenced yard. He is now an indoor dog, we will not adopt if you intend to leave him outdoors all the time.

If you're interested in adopting this gentle giant and give him his forever home, please email me for an application.
