My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

CLYDE

Breed:  Boxer Pointer Mix  / Adoption fee is $75 / Sex:  Male  / Age:  1  / Weight:  47.8 pounds

Hi, my name is Clyde.  Thank you for reading my bio.  Surprisingly, I have been in rescue for almost exactly one year.  I'm not sure why I have been continually overlooked because I am a very good boy! I love to play, especially if someone will throw my tennis balls.  I will bring the ball back and drop it at your feet.  I am very energetic but I will settle nicely and lay at your feet while you watch tv.  I love to be petted and cuddled and, if invited, I will cuddle on the sofa. (My foster mom says sofa's are off limits at her house and I'm okay with that!)

I was pulled from the Enid pound by Pet Angels when my room needed to be vacated. I am so lucky to have been picked up by Pet Angels. Ever since my arrival, I have made friends with all the staff and volunteers and all the doggies I have had to share space with. And let me tell you, I have met A LOT of dogs. Being here so long will do that.

House Manners:  Clyde is currently in a foster home and is doing well adjusting to living in a house.  He is housebroken and uses a doggie door to go outside.  When no one is home he is crated and has not attempted a 'breakout'.  Clyde loves his toys but needs items that can withstand his tough chewing.  He does not bother other items in the house.

Basic Training: Clyde is very excited to meet new people and at first he may jump.  He responds well to a verbal correction and mellows out quickly.  He is getting better about walking on a leash but still pulls some. Clyde is smart, eager to please and will be a great dog with some continued basic training.

Other Dogs: Clyde has gotten along well with other dogs at the rescue.  He is currently living with two dogs under 10 pounds and a large dog.  He gets along very well with all.

Cats: Clyde was only interested in the cat during his cat test for a moment or two but showed no signs of wanting to chase the cat.

Kids: Clyde might jump when he is excited.  We are working on this behavior but he may be overwhelming for small kids.

Fencing: Clyde lives in a group dormitory with an attached play yard that has a 4 foot fence.   Clyde has not shown signs of digging or climbing out of the fenced area. We do not know him to jump over the 4ft fence portion.  Clyde will, however, jump the small baby gate in his foster home to reach his foster mom if left long enough.

If you are interested in meeting Clyde please complete and submit an online application and a Pet Angels representative will respond within 24 to 48 hours.  Applications do not obligate you to adopt the pet, however it provides the information we need in order to match the right pet with the right home.

Important PLEASE read if interested in adoption:

For certain dogs at the rescue we will maintain an open mind on adoption approvals based on a case by case basis. For example, apartments, unfenced yards, and pets around young kids will be approved if the pet you are interested in is a good fit for that situation.  Specific dogs will require a secured fenced in yard and in some situations the fence will have size and type requirements.  Specific fencing requirements are due to safety, the breed, or if it is known the pet has an escape history.

We are looking for pet parents that provide vet care such as routine vaccines for their current pets and heartworm prevention for dogs. Please understand we do cross check vet references and landowners/landlord policies and cannot process applications with incomplete or incorrect information.

We ask that you take your newly adopted dog for a vet exam within the first 30 days. This is important in order to maintain ongoing heartworm prevention. It is also recommended the pet have a fecal exam administered as some pets may need additional de-wormers after leaving our care.

Please submit a Pre-Adoption Application (questionnaire) by clicking our logo button below (if visible) or by visiting www.petangelsrescue.org if interested in meeting/adopting one of our pets. Complete and submit only one application even if you are interested in meeting more than one pet. The questionnaire simply helps provide us with key information about your families dynamics when matching the pet with your home and utilizing information we have learned about that dog or cat.

All of our pets at Pet Angels Rescue are featured on our independent website and can be accessed from our PETS FOR ADOPTION PAGEPlease look at all of our adoptable pets as there may be more than one at our rescue you would like to meet.  If you have any questions please visit our website and look at, Before You Adopt & Adoption Process & App. pages for answers to most of your questions.  Since we have limited staffing we ask that you submit any questions via email at contact@petangelsrescue.org
