Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Oliver was adopted by an older gentleman in 2007 and provided loving, loyal companionship to him until very recently when his owner was placed in a nursing home. Unable to take Oliver, he transferred ownership to Silver Linings Rescue. In 2017, Oliver was diagnosed with keratoconjunctivitis or KCS, which is a fancy way of saying dry eye. KCS is a lack of the water part of the tear film and often causes a thick, mucoid discharge. KCS is often caused by an immune condition where the body is attacking the glands that produce the tears. It is generally a chronic condition, meaning that Oliver requires lifelong therapy. At this time, he is only on an ophthalmic gel, which runs about $55 per month. Otherwise, Oliver is a healthy, happy boy that would love to find a warm, quiet place to call home for the remainder of his days. Unfortunately, his owner passed away before he could see Oliver find his forever home, but we're hopeful we can find the right person for him!
He is currently living in foster care with a variety of other dogs, cats and several children and gets along well with everyone! He does have trouble seeing, but adapted to his foster home within a few days.
