My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a LONGGGGG low-rider puppy with the face of an older man? Hartford is your boy! This kid could not be more adorable, with his never-ending torso, stumpy legs and heart-melting underbite! All puppy, this happy-go-lucky boy sees the world as his playground! Whether it’s a slipper, a leaf, or a doggy friend, he will engage with gusto! Super smart, Hartford is doing much of his “business” outside with his foster siblings – not perfect but learning! He is also learning to walk on a harness and doing very well keeping up with his buddies! Hartford is great sleeper and stays in his bed all night near the pack! This cuddle bug learns quickly and looks to older dogs for reassurance, he loves sitting on his foster mom’s lap and never stops kissing his canine foster brother and sister! We would prefer him in a home with a friend and a fenced-in yard. Hartford is approx 3.5 months old as of Jan 1, 2020. He weighs 10 lbs He will probably be in the 25-30 lb range when fully grown. He is a scruffy little terrier mix, very long on the body so may have some dachshund in him as well. We have his two siblings as well for adoption, Tacoma and Chelsea - two little girls. We also have his mom, Pancake, who looks like she has some border terrier in her.

OUR RESCUE POLICY - It is our rescue policy for all our dogs that we require a home with no children under the age of 8, and experienced dog owners only.

The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. We also provide a coupon for a free wellness visit to the South Wilton Vet group if convenient for you. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. Our application is online at http://houstonshaggydogrescue.org/application-process/
