My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Update on Ebby…

History-"stray" discarded hunting hound, brought in by suspected owner with another hound, "Ricky" (also now at HCHS) to a rural WV pound. He needed medical attention- a dental, neuter, bloodwork and some skin growths checked. Luckily, RADAR assisted with his vetting and surgeries.

Personality-He is super quiet, gentle with people, takes food and treats politely and VERY food motivated. He is earning the ropes of being indoors (fostering w/ a grad student).

Behavior-Ebby is good with other dogs but needs to be fed separately as he does food guard from dogs, not people. There are no cats in his foster home but a cat test could be done.

Home habits-Ebby is house trained and not destructive in the foster home. Here's what his foster has to say.... Ebby is amazing. He sleeps in his bed not the crate at night and I only crate him when I run an errand and he’s housetrained, will eat any food he can get to and he LOVES babies and little kids. He’s a good sleeper and really good on walks. He knows like zero tricks but he listens when I tell him to come here and he like finally knows his name when I call him.

Health- His health is good, he had a dental, neuter, bloodwork, 4DX hw and several skin growths examined, which were found to be benign. Ebby is current on Da2PP, Bordetella, and Rabies. He's on monthly Interceptor and topical Advantix. He is microchipped with Found.org.

His home…Ebby seems to handle stairs well and would love a fenced yard although that's not required. We are handling adoptions outside in a mutual space on a case by case basis or adoption can be "pending" and delayed until travel and meet up can be safely done. HCHS animals are safe in foster and there is no time limit on their stays.

$150 adoption fee

All dogs are spayed/neutered, 4dx heart-worm tested, given Da2PP Bordetella and Rabies vaccines, de-wormed, treated for fleas and/or ticks, administered HW monthly prevention and micro-chipped with registration.
