Here's what the humans have to say about me:
** BREED EXPERIENCED ADOPTERS ONLY, PLEASE **
"YUKON" is an exceptionally handsome, 7 to 8 month old, 80 lb., Landseer Newfoundland male pup. A little shy & reserved at first, but warms up nicely and is very sweet & loving. He likes his 'treats', but is more praise-driven, and loves to be hugged. Yukon is a smart boy, and is eager to please, but can be willful, so he will need an owner who is both experienced with the breed, able to handle a strong dog, and garner his respect, being both gentle, calm and confident. Yukon LOVES and craves the company of other dogs.
Placement in a home with a slightly older, large, resident dog who is playful, kind, good natured and gentle in spirit would be optimal. Yukon has not been cat-tested. Due to his youth and size, we recommend an experienced family with children above the age of 6 yrs old.
Yukon has been neutered, de-wormed, micro-chipped, is current on vaccinations, on monthly heart worm preventative, crate-trained and house-trained. Yukon is leash-trained, but is young & strong, so will need continual walking reinforcement until a little more mature.
This rescue does not administer it's own vaccination shots. All of our rescued dogs' medical care has been administered by a licensed Veterinarian. All of our rescued dogs have been on a nutritional regime which includes high quality food and supplements (ex., pro-biotics; vitamins, etc). This is done to bolster their immune systems and overall health; the result benefits their adoptive family with a pooch who has a lustrous coat, bright shiny eyes, and happy and healthy disposition.
