Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lotus is just like her name: a beautiful pure white flower that has grown out of the muck and mud. Lotus has bloomed and is ready to shine. She is a happy little dog, approximately 10 pounds. One of her favorite things is to go for car rides. She loves to look out the window and wag her tail. Her other favorite thing is to be by your side or even on your lap as you relax together on the couch watching a good movie. And it may seem like she isn’t really watching the TV, but she is! She gets excited when she sees dogs on TV!
We believe that Lotus will do best as the only dog in the house. She would love to be the center of your attention and have all of your affection to herself.
She also does best with females. She isn’t aggressive toward men, but gets nervous and cowers. I’m sure a loving man could win her over, but it may take patience. This is part of the mud from her past. (We have not seen her with children yet)
The first 10 years of her life was the mud. She was owner surrendered to the shelter with mange, tapeworms, tumors (breast cancer), and periodontal disease. But now she gets to shine as the beautiful flower that she is. You can see her "before" photo in the album. The breast cancer was successfully removed and her blood work and x-rays show that all of her organs are healthy! She is healthy and ready to shine!
Lotus is also super smart! She knows high five and she is fully potty trained, including pee pad trained. She is learning how to ring a bell to tell you that she needs to go outside! She is also great with baths too. And she is good on a leash.
She will make a wonderful pet for someone who will treat her like the flower that she is.
