My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

4/24/10 FOSTER UPDATE: I’ve been fostering Gretchy since Thanksgiving so she’s been here awhile.
Gretchen was scheduled to be euthanized in NC because she came from a feral colony and they don’t have resources. She was found to be spayed, and ear tipped but no word on the actual colony caretaker.
Gretchen was feral, and scaled my walls when I first allowed her out of a crate. She now lays on a couch but is very reticent to really interact with people. She will let you nose boop her but that took many months of work. She is a gorgeous cat but she most likely will never be a lap cat. She does phenomenal with other cats, kittens and lokey dogs. I like to say she is mysterious and likes her privacy: she simply is not an outwardly affectionate cat toward people. Over time that may continue to change as she has made a tremendous amount of progress.
Gretchen must be sedated for the vet. She was feral and her vetting was done through a cage essentially.
She is a very neat and tidy cat. She is stunning and has a quiet calm about her which is a far cry from what she was. I am able to pick her up and carry her around. She has had the opportunity to scratch and bite me and she has never once done either. She’s a good girl at heart and a very special case.

ORiGINAL POST;Gretchen is a gorgeous, approximately 3 year old, female Blue Point Himalayan cat. She is healthy, has been vetted, tested, microchipped, spayed, vaccinated and is on preventions.

Gretchen has feral tendencies - is definitely NOT a lap cat. She can be handled by her foster mom at this point but will need a very patient owner that allows her the time she needs to trust you. Please keep in mind it’s possible that may not happen at all. Gretchen is ear-tipped and is fine with other cats. We suggest a home with no young children as she will be more comfortable in a calm, quiet, stress-free home environment :-)

If interested in adopting, please visit www.masrescue.org and click on "Adopt Here". The adoption fee is $95.00. Please note: 100% of all the adoption fees collected are used to care for the animals, and pay our ever increasing vet bill. We appreciate your interest in adopting from a rescue organization. cWe understand the desire to meet our "cuties" as soon as possible, but because we operate entirely out of foster homes, we need to limit visitation to approved applicants only. Breed Selection is 'Best Efforts' by shelter staff, veterinarians and rescue volunteers. No guarantees are implied.
Cats are NOT to be de-clawed, and must remain indoor pets only.
Remember adoption is a commitment for the lifetime of your companion; cats could live 20 years or more!!
