Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chance is a very handsome, cute, sweet and playful boy. He loves belly rubs and lots of pets, and is very good about being touched and handled all over. He is endearingly clumsy and a total love bug goof.
He is very smart, and learns fast. So far, he knows: Sit, Wait, Look at me, Leave It, Drop It, and Up, and is still working on Come, Stay, Paw, Lie Down, Gentle, Kisses, This Way and Walk Nice. He can learn new commands with just praise, but learns faster with treats. He is food motivated and is very polite at meal times, just sitting, drooling and waiting patiently for his food.
He is wary with new people and dogs, but will warm up given time and proper introductions. He also tends to be apprehensive in new situations, but with time, patience and encouragement he is fine.
He has a great, submissive personality with people, and is a total love bug. With new dogs, he tends to be more dominant, and can be pushy and a bit bossy with dogs he had just met, not liking to share his toys or sticks at first. Once he gets to know them, he relaxes, and is all about playing, running and wrestling.
Chance makes an excellent watch dog - he likes to sound the alert for anything he feels is encroaching on his territory, or he feels his person should know about. Like all excellent guard dogs, he tends to bark and growl at strangers when they enter his home. He relaxes as soon as he realizes they are friends not meaning any harm.
His ideal home will be fairly active and have lots of room for him to run and play, with at least one other easy-going dog as a playmate. He would do best in a home in the country or on the outskirts of a town/city.
Please contact Furry Family Animal Rescue or myself (Anette Tar) for more information, with your questions, or if you think Chance is your boy.
He currently live sin Georgetown.
His adoption is $495.
