Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Behati is DEAF. She is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down here, so she is willing to move north for a good loving forever home.
Behati (named after a Victoria Secret model) was a dumped dog that wandered up to someones home. After Behati decided she could trust the people she led them to her 5 puppies. Behati is completely DEAF and we are amazed that she was able to survive and keep her puppies safe out in the wild. We guess that Behati is around a year of age and she weighs 38 pounds. Behati is a very loving, sweet, and gentle dog. She is well behaved and very smart. We are still working on hand signals. Behati is crate trained and house trained. She rides fairly well in the car and walks on a leash. She is terrified of cats and wants nothing to do with them. She likes to play with toys and other dogs. She is very quiet and only barks on occasion. Potential adopters will need to be familiar with the needs of deaf dogs and committed to training her with hand signals. Behati must be in the house as a loved member of the family. She must be walked on a leash and we would prefer that she have a secure fenced yard to run and play. Her adopter must be committed to keeping her safe and protected from any situation that could potentially be dangerous to a deaf dog.
Behati is healthy. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. She is negative for heartworms and current on heartworm and flea prevention. Behati has a $500.00 adoption fee which includes ground transport via Rescue Road Trips for pickup in Washington or New Stanton PA. Behati is being fostered in TEXAS and will not be sent north until after she is adopted.
