Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jett, his mom, and three brothers were dumped in a park in east Austin. Our trapping team was alerted to them after a finder and park ranger managed to hand capture the mama dog, but couldn't catch any of the pups. One of our rescuers went out immediately, late at night and in near freezing temps. She found the pups cuddled in a pile in a rotting stump close to the water's edge on the river. She was alone and it was so cold that she decided since her chances of being able to get them all safely out at once were low, it was best to leave them to keep each other warm for the night.
The next day in the daylight more members of our team went out to get them but found that tragedy had struck overnight: one of the puppies had been killed by coyotes and the other three had scattered in fear. So over the course of the next several days, we rounded the remaining three brothers up, one by one. Jett was the last brother caught and was found hiding near an abandoned building in the park and was hand captured after being blocked into his hiding spot.
Once he was safe and reunited with his family, Jett has proved to be a happy and funny little guy. He is a little shy with new people, so will need someone to go slow, but he warms up quickly. He is doing great with house training and as long as you take him out regularly, he rarely has an accident. He is crate trained and does well with other dogs. He does better with older than children. Jett is ready to find his forever family and forget the rough days in the park!
