My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bruno is only 2-1/2 years old. He weighs a chubby 16 lbs. He is being fostered in Vero Beach, FL.

UPDATED BIO 12/12/2019: Bruno has been in his foster home for only a few days. His surrendering owners loved him very much, but their life situation changed and they felt Bruno would get more attention and a happier life with another loving family and home.

Bruno is as cute as he can be, but still very much a puppy, so he is very high-energy and loves to romp around and is curious about his surroundings. Bruno needs an active family with children 10+ years old that can commit at least 15-18 years with him. He has been crated a lot in his young life and when he has freedom to roam, he is so excited. Because he hasn't had enough exercise and activity for such a young dog, Bruno needs to lose at least 2-4 lbs to be a healthier weight; his foster parents have put him on a much healthier diet and he is getting lots of play time and exercise.

Bruno has picked up the leash-training quickly and walks well as long as there is a bit of slack on the leash. He is getting along very well with the two little resident yorkies in the home, as expected. He needs some reinforcement on his house-training and his foster parents are working with him on this as well. He does not seek out his crate any longer, which is a very good thing. He has already found his way into his foster parents’ bed, oh-oh. He is a big happy, lovable goofball puppy who loves everybody and is so enjoying his newfound freedom outside of the crate where he has sadly spent most of his life.

Bruno’s perfect home would be one where he had another dog closed to his size and age to play with – still being a very young puppy, he is now enjoying playtime very much. PLEASE NOTE: Bruno was previously in a home with children under the age of 10 years old and due to his puppy exuberance and rough play, he did not do well with them. Only homes with children age 10+ years will be considered for this sweet boy.
