TikTok came into the city shelter as a stray on October 15. He was a little bit upset about that and during our very first interaction, I told him he needs to relax because he was already going to have a tough chance at getting adopted due to his coat color - solid black. #blackdogsyndrome is a real thing and affects all charcoal colored coats. He must have listened because when I returned a day or two later, his mean boy 'tude had completely vanished and a new funny, affectionate boy emerged.
I named him Sarsaparilla and helped network him for a home. He was such a sweet cat and was so patient. He is a big Boi and the kennel didn't allow much room for him to do anything at all. I sure wish people would spay and neuter so we didn't have to continue the cycle of homeless animals stuck in cages :(
Anyways, one day Sarsaparilla meowed at me and I just couldn't even handle it - his meow is super high pitched and does not match his muscular and thicc build! 😂 I would let him out to stretch when I was at the shelter and I just couldn't wait any longer, and neither could he.
At the one month mark of him waiting at the city shelter, we pulled him into our rescue.
For anyone who considered him and passed - you missed out. This cat is ONE OF A KIND awesome. And to whomever didn't bother to claim their beloved companion, or neuter him - he is safe now. And you don't deserve him :)
After we pulled him for rescue, I decided that the name "TikTok" just fit. It's so unique and cute, just like him. We call him Tik or Tikky or TT. Or ham or chonk or angel. He's so great and we are glad he is with us. And he is going to mMe some family super duper happy and complete. 🖤

🖤 I know a lot of people have an idea of what "perfect" is, but if there was ever a perfect cat, it would be TikTok. Tik is so happy, all the time. Never a bum day. Never a blah moment. He greets us at the door with his trademark chirp. He is just so relaxed and well mannered. Tik would be a great cat for a first time cat owner or family. He is moderately active and just an all around fantastic cat.
🖤 He likes to play with all toys but especially pipe cleaners and tubes and roundabouts. He will play with you or also entertain himself. He would sure like a buddy to play with as well.
🖤 Tiktok is a gentleman through and through and doesn't dislike much. He is OK with being held, petted everywhere, brushed, ears cleaned, nails trimmed, kissed, snuggled, booped - you name it, he's down.
🖤 He loves to nap and does it often. (lucky!) Sometimes we have to look around and play one way Hide and Seek because we aren't sure where he decided to snooze lol!
🖤He likes his rope scratcher over cardboard and carpet and he definitely wants a cat tree in his new home. Make sure it's large and sturdy because hims a big Boi :D
