My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Siblings Lena and Hendrix were adopted from OCARC as kittens. Their mom, who loved and cared for them the past 14 years, reached out to us for help in late 2019. She was terminally ill and in hospice care, and was worried about the well-being of Lena and Hendrix when she was gone. She loved them dearly and had no friends or family to care for them - she was especially concerned they would end up at a high-kill shelter if she didn't make plans. We knew it would be difficult to find a home for a bonded pair of black, older kitties - but we couldn't say no. We picked them up from her home and took them to our veterinarian where they received a health check, updated vaccines, and testing. Sadly, their mom passed away only 4 days later. But we know she was so thankful to know her babies were safe before she passed. They lived in the same home for their entire lives, and the one person that loved and cared for them is gone. They are currently residing together in one of our loving foster homes, but we would really like for them to find a forever home.

Lena is a petite girl, and a bit shy at first around new people. Lena likes to play with dangling toy mice & sit on the couch & watch TV with you.

Her brother, Hendrix, is a love and will show you his belly for pets once he gets to know you. Hendrix likes to play fetch with toys with his foster Mom, and loves to cuddle.

Would you be willing to give Lena and Hendrix a new forever home? Their adoption fee is discounted due to a donation from one of our long time supporters. Contact us at info@oc-arc.com if you would like more information about this special pair.

Each of our cats and kittens has been:

- Spayed or neutered
- Tested for FeLV (Feline Leukemia)
- Tested for FIV (Feline Aids)
- De-flead (topical Revolution or Advantage)
- De-wormed (tape and round worms)
- Given their first FVRCP vaccination:

We keep all our kitties current on their FVRCP vaccines so depending on the age of the kitty when you adopt him or her and how long we've had the kitty, the vaccine series may be complete. If not, you as the adopter will be responsible for any further vaccinations in the series.

- Rabies Vaccination when age appropriate

These services would usually cost more than $500. Of course, an adoption donation of more than $175 is always welcome, since we often provide additional medical care such as x-rays, blood panels, treatment for ears, eyes, upper respiratory infections and viruses.
