My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you would like to visit one our amazing pups, please review the policies below, complete an online application www.adoptmountainpets.org and give us call if you have any questions prior to coming by. 970 626 2273

Wilma is a beautiful girl with an equally sweet temperament. She is however very timid around people. She will come forward for treats and walk nicely on a leash but is still a little nervous when touched. She is a t 3-4 year old Siberian Husky.
WIlma's anxiety manifests in skin issues and causes her to chew on her legs so we are currently trying different methods and medications to help with that.
She is smart and will do well with someone who is familiar with the breed. She needs a very secure yard.

Wilma does much better when with another dog her size and temperament showing her humans are good and how to maneuver around a home.

We often adopt same day as the first visit an interview but it is not guaranteed. Some dogs will take multiple visits and adopters are approved based on the best fit for the particular animal being considered. We do not hold pets during the process.

Most dogs who come from the shelter will not be house trained.

Most adoptable dogs will need some reintroduction into a home, potty training, basic manners and social skills. Please be prepared to provide that training and dedication that will be needed.

We do not have any way of knowing if a dog or cat will do well with all children or all other animals.

It is important everyone in the home is introduced to the new pet.

We also require that any family dogs come into meet your potential adoptee. Please be sure your dogs are spayed or neutered and current on vaccines (distemper - parvo and rabies) before bringing them to the shelter.

All dogs must be transported home in a travel crate to transport your new pup home safely.

Renters must provide a copy of a lease indicating pets are allowed or contact information for the landlord.

If you are interested in meeting or adopting one of our pets or have questions about the process please see our website at www.adoptmountainpets.org or call the Shelter between 11:00 am and 5:45 pm Tuesday through Saturday. 970 626 2273
