Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chihuahua baby male Dobbie is a sweet young puppy who is braving a new world. He is curious about all everything; his foster pupper who he loves to torment and is especially curious about that reflection in the mirror. He gives that mirror dog “what’s for” at every opportunity. He is working on his crate-training and house-training. His foster mom is working on both, but his new family will need to continue to help him grow into a fine young man. His furry foster siblings are also teaching him the tricks and he is learning quite a bit from them. Just like all puppies, Dobbie needs a consistent routine, someone home during his early months, a strong training plan and boundaries as he builds his confidence. They do learn what we teach them. He is medium energy, is full of kisses and cuddles. A fenced yard and an older dog sibling are ideal, but not necessary. Dobbie has a thyroid condition which will require soft food for his lifetime and a daily medication. This thyroid issue is associated with low levels and so a simple supplementation or addition of thyroid hormones will result in normal levels quickly. Levothyroxine is a thyroid medicine that replaces a hormone normally produced by thyroid gland to regulate the body's energy and metabolism. Levothyroxine is given when your thyroid does not produce enough of this hormone on its own and this medication is used to treat hypothyroidism (low thyroid hormone). His response to the medication has been dramatic and we see no complications. Unfortunately, there is no cure for hypothyroidism and supplementation must be given for life. Will he outgrow this? That is anybody’s guess. For more information on how to meet Dobbie, please visit our website at www.nobordersanimalrescuesociety.ca to fill In the online application as that is the first step to meeting our dogs.

We are a registered non profit society. All our dogs are vaccinated, sterilized and are fostered in homes with families.
NOBARS believes that a dog is best assessed for a new home environment by living in one!!!! Therefore we do not use kennels, but have a network of approved foster homes where our dogs can be properly assessed before being offered for rehoming. Our foster homes offer a varied range of experiences which means we can choose an appropriate foster home for each dog, but it also means our dogs are able to experience situations which are invaluable to owners looking to take on a new forever friend, such as children, cats and other dogs.
