My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

HANK is a 15 yr old Jack Russell "shortie" who loved his Dad, but never saw him again after he went to hospice. Now HANK waits in a foster home in Zephyrhills with 2 other male Jacks ROCKY and MELLOW, who came from the same home. HANK is perfectly happy to be separate from those two dogs. Senior dogs like HANK deserve to finish out their lives in comfort and love. These 3 dogs were left behind and there was no plan for them. So glad they did not go to the shelter!! If you have a place in your heart and home for HANK please go to the directions below and send us your info on our application form. HANK is neutered and we will get him up to date on his rabies vaccine. He is in good health and is a happy senior Jack Russells. Because he is an older dog we will only ask that the adoption fee be $100. Contact us if you have any questions at all. email - almosthomerescue@gmail.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------TO BE CONSIDERED TO ADOPT A DOG FROM ALMOST HOME RESCUE YOU MUST FIRST COMPLETE THE ADOPTION APPLICATION. PLEASE READ!
1. Jack Russell Terriers need homes with a secure fence. Underground fencing is NOT safe for a Jack Russell.
2. Jack Russell terriers are bred to be hunting dogs and are not suited to apartment or condo life. The hunting instincts and prey drive cannot be trained out of these terriers and they will stay active in this way all their lives.
3. We do not adopt Jack Russell Terriers to families withe small children (under 6) as terriers are not patient with the antics of a small toddler.
4. Jack Russell Terriers can not safely coexist in a home with cats, birds, ferrets, hamsters, rabbits, etc, as terriers were bred to hunt and can kill small animals. They are hunters and they never give up.
5. Please keep an open mind and consider your lifestyle both today and 10 years from now before you apply for a dog that may not be a good fit for the long run.
