Meet Mary Ann! This 8-month old 9lb sweetie came from a high kill shelter and was on the short list because there was something wrong with her back leg. She’s now safe with us and has been vetted including X-rays to her leg. The good news is that Mary Ann’s leg isn’t broken nor does she have an injured ACL. What she does have though is some type of degenerative issue with her hip socket we were told. Mary Ann uses her back right leg about 30% of the time and sometimes will yip if she hits her leg while running or playing. Amputation was suggested but not recommended. We declined to amputate since she does use her leg on a regular basis.
Mary Ann is the sweetest girl. She loves everyone but can be a little timid at first for a minute or two. She’s only about 8-9lbs so it seems like she just wants to make sure that she’s not going to be stepped on. Once she feels safe though she’s your best buddy and lap dog. Mary Ann is great with gentle children and loves to give kisses. Mary Ann is fine with all dogs and cats as well. She is vetted and ready to find a loving home with a warm lap.
A home check is required. Yolo County adopters preferred, but will consider other locations. If you are more than 100 miles away from Yolo County please be aware that there may be a small additional expense associated with travel cost.
If you are interested in meeting Mary Ann, email us and we will send you an adoption application. (include your location in the email) The adoption fee for Mary Ann is $400.
*Vetting includes: Neuter/spay, microchip, age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, heartworm test, flea preventative, heart worm preventative (including the remainder of their 6-month supply), and any other necessary vet care.
