Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ezra is a 2-year-old, 55-lb Yellow Labrador mix who loves people, dogs, meal times, and nap times. He had a rough start on the streets of Houston and was banged up and underweight when found, but he is now well on his way to a happy and healthy life. He is incredibly friendly and playful with his foster’s two medium-sized dogs – they love to wear each other out then crash on the couch for a nap together. He loves all people too, and wastes no time seeking pets from visitors and vets. He hasn’t been around children, but he is a gentle giant who would do well with well-behaved kids.
Because of his early days struggling for food, Ezra is super treat-motivated and SO excited about meal time. Expect major tail wags and even a “thank you” kiss when you put his bowl down. Due to his early struggles for food, he should be fed in his own corner and he’ll be fine (though he likes to sneak food from other bowls when you’re not watching…). He is missing some bottom teeth, but his gummy smile just makes him that much more adorable. He’s also heartworm positive but on a mild, slow-kill treatment that doesn’t hinder his lifestyle one bit. He loves roaming his foster’s yard and hasn’t exhibited any “escape artist” behavior – he is totally fine running or lounging around with minimal supervision.
He knows “sit” and will sit for pretty much anything. He is potty trained, but needs to be let out during an 8-to-5 work day. He loves pets and cuddles, especially on a comfy couch, and thinks he’s a lap dog. He also loves toys, but his foster sister isn’t great at sharing. He is very understanding though and watches from the couch until she gets distracted, then swoops in for a turn.
