Who needs a Labrador retriever when you can have Zoey! This petite, friendly and funny little Jack Russell Terrier can fetch a tennis ball and bring it back to you faster than any Labrador we have seen! Zoey is a young girl at only 1.5 years of age, and she is as cute as she is spunky. She was found as stray on the streets of Newark and brought to the shelter, and the staff there quickly contacted us to come and rescue her.
Zoey is only 11 pounds, but she gets along quite well with the other larger dogs in her foster home and is fine with the cats. She has typical JRT energy, and loves to chase after tennis balls and pounce on squeaky toys. Her foster family gets the biggest kick out of watching her play! Zoey loves going for walks and has no trouble keeping up with her new best friend, a Saint Bernard. They cause quite a stir when their foster mom walks them through her neighborhood! Zoey does know how to relax, and she has claimed a soft blanket in the corner of the living room as her “spot”, where she happily curls up and snoozes after playtime has ended. She also enjoys being held and cuddled.
Zoey is up to date on all her shots and has been spayed. She has some skin allergies (typical with this breed) which are easily kept under control with medication and good nutrition. She is housetrained and crate trained. If you are fan of JRT’s, Zoey would be the perfect addition to your family!
