Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Breezy is a sweet 5 month old, pure breed, girl who was rescued from a local family who had a family tragedy. Sadly, Breezy had to spend way too much time in a crate due to this emergency. The prior owner realized they could not care for her, as she deserved to be cared, due to this reason, so we took her in.
Breezy is going to be a BIG dog. She is currently only 5 months old and weighs 50 pounds. She may be big in size but she is still very much a puppy. She is working her way through typical puppy behaviors such as jumping up, mouthing and putting everything into her mouth so she can explore the world. She responds very well to correction and so she is learning to sit instead of jumping. Mouthing is turning to licking. Good Girl! A verbal reminder is all it takes for her to remember her manners. She has typical puppy energy and loves to play tug with you. She can stop in the middle of a good tug game on command and will sit. With continued supervision and training which is appropriate for any puppy her age, she will be an excellent girl.
UPDATE: She was very good for her bath. She is quick to trust so she allowed a person she had just met to lift her into the tub, wash and rinse her. The best part is that she tolerated the dryer very well too!
Breezy is learning to walk on a leash and is doing very well, she is clearly a trainable and smart girl. She will sit on command when a car is approaching and stay until I say “lets go”. She is not a fearful dog and is very interested in meeting and greeting everyone (human or canine) that we meet on the road. This morning she met an older beagle and was very respectful and showed good social interaction. Then she met a woman walking to her car and had to say hello. She is kind of a rock star in the neighborhood already after just a couple of days.
We are also working on housebreaking and making progress there too. Unfortunately, Breezy had to spend way too much time in a crate because of a family emergency with her prior owner so she had no choice but to relieve herself in the crate. She is now wetting the crate less and less and when brought outside, she is relieving herself right away in the designated area. She is also very quiet in the crate - not a barker at all - and she does not object to going in.
