My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Carmen is a very sweet and friendly, five-year-old, 55-pound female terrier-mix with a cropped tail looking for a loving guardian.

Carmen is full of nub wiggles and kisses for everyone she meets.

She would be best in home without other pets but would love to snuggle with you! Carmen would do best in her own back yard hangin' with her peeps. She knows the command sit and takes treats very gently from your fingers.

Carmen is crate-trained and appears to be housebroken. She was rescued by Lucky Dog Rescue from a Southern Illinois shelter and brought to Chicago to find a loving.

To meet and possibly adopt Carmen, please contact Melia at melia88@comcast.net for an adoption application.

Her adoption fee of $200 benefits the rescued dogs of Lucky Dog Rescue. She is healthy, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and micro-chipped.

She is being fostered in Chicago.

Additional adoption info

The adoption fee for each of the dogs is $200.00. That is to cover the cost of getting the animal spayed/neutered, HW tested and completely UTD on vaccinations. An adoption application can be obtained by contacting us by email at melia88@comcast.net. Once the application has been received and reviewed, a meet and greet will be arranged with your family and the dog you are interested in. A home visit will also be done prior to any adoption being completed.

All of these dogs are currently located in foster homes or paid boarding either in Chicago, IL or surrounding areas. An appointment can be made to view any of the animals at the convenience of the potential adopter and the foster.

More about this rescue

We are a very small group of independent dog rescuers. All of the dogs that are available for adoption were saved from needlessly being euthanized in high kill shelters. Once a dog is brought into our care, it receives all of the vetting that is necessary including a spay/neuter surgery, HW test, and vaccinations. A foster home is then provided for the dog until a forever adoptive home can be found. When a foster home is not available, the dogs will be placed in paid boarding until they are adopted.
