Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Almost 7 months ago we got this little puppy out of the shelter. He had been thrown from a vehicle. Two broken back femurs, road rash, lacerations and whining in pain. We put him in a storage tote we had just returned puppies to the shelter in.
He went directly to Safari Vet where he underwent emergency surgery, he had internal pins in both legs and an external fixator on one. He spent 5 weeks at the vet in physical therapy.
Fenway the fighter was what we called him, he had endured so much in his short life...but, he fought. He fought to walk again, he fought to prove to the monster that did this to him that he did not win.
Fenway is now ready to fight his way into someone's heart. He can run, and he is fast. He loves to play and loves cuddling. He gets along with other dogs of all sizes and kids. He plays hard and then wants to snuggle up with you or he'll find a soft bed to nap in.
But, get ready because he is Boss Hog... he will make sure you are doing exactly as you are told. Help him on couch, help him on the bed, hold him, pet him, love him...him, him, him. He is learning to bark/howl "I love you".
He is kennel trained, house trained (90%) as long as you get him outside when you are told, just kidding. He does go to the door when he needs out. He is current on boosters and is scheduled for neuter. We believe he is 5-6 mths old, lab mix, he has the longest legs.
Don't let this one be the one that go away, he is truly an amazing boy.
Before you get attached to me, read all the way to the bottom. You will see that I am still in Texas- My rescue will make all arrangements for me to travel to you as soon as I am adopted.
Note: The above bio on the dog reflects the behavior we have observed in the dog's foster home. We provide adopters current information on our dogs; we cannot guarantee they will behave in the same manner in a different environment with new owners.
Our adoption fees vary, according to species, size, age and other issues. Discounts apply in some cases. Our dogs have been dewormed, heartworm tested (if over 6 months), started on heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, vaccinated for bordetella, dhppv, rabies (if age appropriate) and microchipped. If old enough they are spayed or neutered, otherwise it will be noted and under a foster to adopt contract until completed and an additional deposit of $100 will be required- deposit will be refunded upon request and proof of surgery. A transportation fee of $200 is required and covers health certificate to travel as well as transportation.
Please be advised that our dogs are adopted to their forever families prior to being transported. Unfortunately, it is not possible to meet the dogs in person prior to adoption. We will Facetime and you may speak with the dogâs foster family. We only send well behaved, well rounded dogs, sending anything other fails the dogs. We expect our dogs to be adopted by families who understand- these are rescue dogs, they will need time to decompress, routine and stability. We put our lives into saving these dogs- we expect their new families to be prepared for a lifetime commitment before applying- dogs are not recyclable.
Please do not send an email inquiring about a dog. Please fill out the adoption application found at https://www.rangersreach.org/ We are 100% volunteer ran and you have no clue how bad it is down here; we try as hard as we can to get through applications as fast as possible. If we spend all our time answering inquires and emails, we have no time to look over applications. Please do not apply until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. We do not hold dogs for any reason. We do try to be fair and go in the order applications are received. If no response, decision or adoption is made we must move on to the next application. Applying for a dog does not guarantee that you will receive that dog.
